I have the same issue.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit, GeForce 9500 GT, AMD Athlon II x4 620.
I have the beta 195.30 Nvidia drive and beta Flash 10.0 r42.
I use the Compiz Icon. Compiz is running under this command:
compiz.real --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --loose-binding --indirect-render
I have run Compiz benchmark when I play a YouTube video. Compiz will go down to 10 frames a second!
