I'm sorry for your disappointment Frank, but this is how open source
developers work. Most of us are not paid for this work.
We have very limited resources and we can't support every version infinitely.
Mozilla has declared Thunderbird 1.5 as End Of Life in December 2007.
No Linux distro developer will bother to fix a bug in a product which
is EOL both upstream and in the distro.
