[Bug 694269] [NEW] thunderbird windows stop receiving any input events

Public bug reported:

I have the following problem:

I usually keep thunderbird open all the time. (And have the "notify"
extension installed so the mail icon in the ubuntu indicator applet
turns green on new mail. This works well and disabling it didn't solve
the problem.)

Some weeks ago thunderbird started showing some annoying behavior. It
(all thunderbird windows - be it the main window or a message composer
or preferences window) sometimes all of a sudden stops receiving /
accepting ANY user input. I can not click on any menu / buttons /
messages or anything else inside the windows any more. The only thing I
can do is close the window from the window manager decoration frame
close button and restart thunderbird. Then it works again for quiet some
time. Until - after 10minutes / 2 hours or something it starts again.

I have originally installed thunderbird 3.1 from the mozillateam
/thunderbird-stable launchpad ppa but I switched back to the lucid
security updates repository now as 3.1 is available there as well.

Any suggestions to solve this are most welcome (i.e. please help ! :-))
