Public bug reported:

I've created some custom launchers for Thunderbird and Firefox (just to
have them display a different icon).

Strangely, the custom Thunderbird launcher gets linked accordingly, but
Firefox creates a new icon upon launch.

The method to create both custom launchers were the same:
*Copy them from /usr/share/applications to home folder
*Change the Icon= in the .desktop s
*Add them to Docky via gconf-editor (since drag and drop didn't work)
*Restart Docky
*Launch Thunderbird (same icon) and Firefox (new icon).

I actually think it's Firefox's fault, since I did this to 4 different
launchers, and Firefox is behaving differently.

Trying to link the window to the launcher, I used xprop and got:
$ xprop
_NET_WM_USER_TIME(CARDINAL) = 69784547
_NET_WM_DESKTOP_FILE(STRING) = "/home/ilhuitemoc/.local/share/docky/launchers/firefox-4.0.desktop" <-- This is my custom launcher (I saved it there just for commodity, it doesn't matter where it is as long as it matches the gconf property
[...][the rest doesn't matter]
