[Bug 432285] [NEW] Thunderbird loses formatting on preformatted text on send

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

If you follow these steps, you end up with a corruptly formatted email:

1.  Create a new message
2.  Specify your own email address
3.  Give it a subject
4.  As body type some characters, anything
5.  Then change the style to preformat
6.  Paste in the three lines from the attached text file, it should look like a table
7.  Click send

The user is not asked whether they want to send it in HTML email (which
would probably fix the problem), and the email message that arrives
doesn't look like the one that was sent.
