this issue has happened to me twice so far updating firefox. ubuntu
jaunty and in xubuntu as well.

just by doing the regular updates that are presented to me when updates become available. 
also i have stumbleupon installed into my toolbars and i get signed out of them as well.

so, both times during the updates. 
when firefox launches for that first time.
i am presented with three (3)  open tabs.

the Congatulations! youve been updated to the newest firefox. page
the Sign in or join stumbleupon page
the firefox branded page of google.
it is very very annoying
