For those of you who want a fix for Karmic, you can install the
xulrunner-1.9.1 and thunderbird packages from my PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~cristiklein/+archive/ppa

Note however that the next security updates for Firefox or Thunderbird
will overwrite these fixes.
