I can confirm this.

on a newly updated system:
~$ upgrade
Running "sudo apt-get upgrade "
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
~$ thunderbird
Segmentation fault
~$ thunderbird -safe-mode
Segmentation fault
~$ thunderbird --disable-pango
Segmentation fault
~$ apt-cache policy thunderbird
thunderbird:
  Installed: 2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        500 http://cd.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Any way to get y'all more info on this bug? I'm surprised at how little it says on crashing, and this is really a show stopper for me getting work done today...
