Hi spad -

Basically what was happening is that I opened Firefox as root rather
than a regular user. I must have closed down the PC without closing
Firefox. Upon reboot, normal users could not open Firefox.

Technically, it's not a bug. It's just been listed as "user error" -
which makes me feel great considering the hours of frustration I had
experienced because of this issue.
