Just a me-too-posting:

Doing a

apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-nonfree
apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

also solved the problem for me.

The site http://www.autobahn.nrw.de/olsim3_5/nrw.html works reasonably
fast.

Linux hermes 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
