This bug is not really triaged since other than a patch noone has discussd this as per:

I am against adding this to default install.
Here are 2 things i have thought about.
We can add this as an "option" in ubufox or someone writes an extension for it and either posts it @ addons.mozilla....
Or 
package it for Ubuntu.
Adding more "default" things to firefox is not a suitable way to go. the code is already bloated and that is what ubufox was intended to do.
