Ubuntu 9.04 Problem

Yo.  I'm trying to download xampp to my desktop in ubuntu 9.04 and am
getting the following download error:

"There is not enough room on the disk to save (filename).  Remove unecessary
files from the disk and try again or try saving in a different location."

I just started in Ubuntu a week ago.  So, I haven't downloaded a bunch of
stuff.  So, I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be enough room for
xampp.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
