I too am having the same problem.

Architecture: AMD 64
OS: Ubuntu8.04
Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-24-generic
Browser: Firefox 3.0.10

"Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'" when attempting to install flash 10
from adobe website with gdebi.
