Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Ubuntu 8.04. Firefox 3.0 Home page set to Google. After linking to gmail page sometimes reverts to home. Even when signed into gmail sometimes reverts to home. Logging into Yahoo mail also reverts to google page at times. There is sometimes a delay, Sometimes the reversion is almost instant. Behavior started suddenly two days ago.
I linked to Mozilla page, but quickly the Google page reappeared. I reloaded Firefox from the Synaptic package manager yesterday, but the problem continued at that time.
I have restarted the computer in recovery mode after restarting and after complete shut downs. As of this morning the problem still occurred.
I have just rebooted and as yet have not had the problem in this session, a real surprise.
