i have the same problem, and can't figure out what exactly causes it,
BUT -- i found a solution that is better than restarting.

open a terminal, and type in
sudo ifconfig (name of interface) down
sudo ifconfig (name of interface) up
then click the connection icon in the 'systray' and click the radio button next to your connection.
