I could not get debugging tools with synaptic.
I will try to find a deb package.

implementing the backtrace looks confusing, but I will try.

....*note*, it usually stops at the Cultivate Peace picture,
    nothing below, or to the side.  Then I get the
    server disconnect message or it stays getting
    data from the hungersite.  Also, when I used elinks text browser
    for a test, the data was arriving at less than 10% of my connection
    speed.  sometimes zero.  (i.e. 1kps instead of 30kps).
