Thanks for your answer.  I am really excited to experiment with such an
early version of Karmic Koala and applications.  I hope I can discover other
issues and communicate them to the right place for correction.

An " Alpha" version is even an earlier release than "Beta" which is supposed
to be the "live test" version.  Is that the case?
