I've also been running afoul of this with 3.011. on Kubuntu 8.10,
no /var/crash there either.

Visiting Youtube (or a page with a youtube video embedded) is a pretty sure fire way to trip this. But I've encountered it on many sites including
vimeo. However, I do not recall it occurring with flash animations, only
flash videos (and I don't much feel like crashing my browser for the
umpteenth time today, thanks).
