/usr/share/xulrunner/chrome/toolkit/content/global/console.xul

Is correct and not corrupt, 
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!-- -*- tab-width: 4; indent-tabs-mode: nil -*- -->

Perhaps a memset() problem ?
