Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.2
Release: 8.04
Version(firefox): 3.0.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
Expected: Flash 10 to work as it always has
Happened: Not working:
I was working with Flash 10.0 d20 and it was working fine until I
upgraded to firefox-3.0.6 then my browser started to crash when
attempting to open ANY flash on ANY site. So I checked around but
nothing was related to this recent update. So I decided to try a
different approach and using this url:
http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-adobe-flash-10-on-a-64bit-
ubuntu-8.04
I installed the ndiswrapper-version of 10.0 r15 via the script. Now
flash is no longer crashing my browser, it's just crashing itself. I see
the typical flash loading interface and then after 1 second it dies and
I am left with a blank space where it was, it's just not there PERIOD.
I've checked the plugins and everything seems to be in order, not sure
what the deal is.
Also, to point out, Flash is working initially because I do see static
flash in the browser until I attempt to activate a control (play a
movie, or listen to a song) and then flash seems to die and is no longer
available until I restart my browser.
