Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
My current version of firefox is 3.0.5.

The Ubuntu package manager propose to me to install the 3.0.6 version.
But after the installation, firefox doesn't work properly. Every new tab
I open give me a beautiful message "Assertion Failed" (see the
attachment). The message appear when I retype the same or another url in
the address bar in this new tab. Otherwise all the present tabs (which
did already open) can be used properly (with F5 or by clicking on links
in the page, but not if I press enter in the address bar)

The Ubiquity plugin crashes the same way. When I press the shortcut,
another error message appear (but I can't submit it, the form accept
only one attachment).

The add-ons window (Tools > Add-ons) doesn't appear properly neither.
The window fits 1x1 pixels, and when I resize it, the window is blank!

The search bar is completely broken!!

However the button "Help > Report a Problem" works properly, so I can
report the problem right now.

In brief, firefox become completely unreliable just after an update, and
I know all these bugs disappear after restarting firefox (I already
detected this bug in the past), but can't we find a solution to avoid
all these bugs (how can I do if I don't have to restart firefox right
now)

PS: sorry for my poor english.
