[Bug 325980] [NEW] Firefox does not redraw page background if the background is center aligned

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Firefox does not redraw page background while resizing it's window
(dragging the window border). After resize (i.e. when I release a mouse
button), it redraws the page so the graphic artifacts disappear. The bug
appears only if page background is centered using background-position
(or background) css property.

Expected behaviour: Firefox redraws the page while resizing window
Current behavior: It redraws only part of page containing some elements

I'm attaching a test case and a screenshot.

To reproduce a bug:
1) just open one of html files from test case archive
2) resize the main firefox window (better to resize horizontally as the page gets redrawn while dragging bottom window border upwards). the bug shows while dragging the window border.
3) after you release a mouse button, the page gets redrawed and the bug is not visible until you start resizing the window again.

I've encountered this bug on 64-bit Xubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid), firefox package version: 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1
Also tried a more recent firefox version (and the bug is still present):
firefox-3.2 3.2~a1~hg20090127r24317+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~fta1~intrepid (from https://edge.launchpad.net/~fta/+archive/ppa)

Windows version of firefox 3.0.5 is free of this bug.

Disabling add-ons did not help.
Creating another profile did not help.
Applying background property to html element instead of body did not help.
