ok, so we are talking about different bugs then
what i have is what's described in #40
i.e. when you type a character or two, they get highlighted so the next key you press overwrites what you wrote.
to emulate this bug, start typing an address in the address bar, after two chars press shift+home and then type the third character. that's what happens, except there's no shift+home obviously, THAT is the bug some of us have, i don't know if that's what the OP was reporting.
i do have clickSelectsAll = true btw

i think it would be useful if we identified who has which bug
