Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

On a clean install of Kubuntu 9.10 64-bit and a clean install of
Thunderbird 64-bit from the repository (2.0.0.23), Thunderbird would not
launch URLs. It simply ignored my clicking. Setting the default
application in System Settings did not resolve the problem. Going into
the JavaScript config file and adding the string network.protocol-
handler.app.http, and setting it to firefox, did resolve the problem.
