ok here is the deal. 
1. not every ones bug is the same as this one. 
2. i need everyone to run the following command and post output to this bug report.
apt-cache policy libstdc++6 libstdc++5 lightning-extension sunbird thunderbird

Ignore the below until after you run that command and post output

Bart: your bug is not valid since you are not using our packaged extension
Gus: You bug is not the same as this one.
Petrusp: Your bug does not pertain to this bug at all

I re-opened this bug for now.
Just because "it crashed" does not mean its the same crash just means you are seeing a crash.
