Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I would restart my computer and that seemed to fix it for the first few
times.  Was finally able to connect to the internet when clicking on
oreport a problem.  I then opened a terminal and ran apt-get update,
apt-get upgrade.  Ended up installing a large Firefox upgrade and it is
now working fine.
