As a user, if they try to force this by default, I have to say I will
remove Ubuntu from my 3 computers and will be back to Debian.

It doesn't matter I can modify it, I shouldn't.

You can't give a bad service, and them modify it, like the update-
manager thing, they are modifying things that already work because they
felt like it.

I loved Ubuntu for years, but if they take their users for granted, they
will loose it.

About canonical making money, they can make money without disturbing
their users, a lot of people appreciate their work, but I preffer giving
them money directly than they looking at what I search.

If the synaptic servers cost money to maintain, I prefer paying them 20
euros/year and have them letting me free.

Look, Apple has made an App store and it works, make a good AppStore for
Linux and let people summit non-free applications, and sell them. The
money you get can support the libre-synaptic apps.

Linux should be about freedom to do whatever you want, if you want to
buy commercial apps with your OS apps, let them.

Ubuntu was an utopical world in witch everything good was free, if it's
not going to be I prefer paying(MacOS) that having to look ads I don't
like.
