Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
When a new tool bar is created in Firefox it cannot be persistently
switched off between closing and opening. While it is a minor bug it is
an annoying bug reducing productivity of a power user. I switch tool-
bars on and off to reduce clutter but every time I restart Firefox all
the tool-bars are switched on. Firefox 3.0.8 (Jaunty 9.04 i386)
For example
1. right click on the menu bar -> select customise
2. From the dialogue box add new tool-bar button
3. Enter any name for the new tool-bar -> press OK -> A tool-bar should appear
4. Add an icon to the tool from the dialogue box. (If you don't the tool-bar will disappear
5. Close the customize tool-bar dialogue box. (You should see the tool-bar with one or more icons)
6. Next right click on any of the tool-bars to deselect you custom tool-bar. (The tool-bar should disappear)
7. Next close Firefox.
8. Now restart Firefox. Notice that the tool-bars have now reappeared. There is no persistence between sessions.
I have checked this and found the bug is reproducible on separate Ubuntu
9.04 machines.
