[Bug 272517] [NEW] My problem is similar to that in Question no 44800 reporeted by faith, Bhavani shankari. but I am unable to get the answer. Back and Forward arrows are inactive (greyed).Clicking on QUIT icon LEADS to disappearing of all icons on bottom bar. Search bar does not take off on mouse clicking .

I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 from  Feisty Fawn through internet.
While trying to startup/boot  in recovery mode  I got  instruction to run apt-get autoremove  libnss3-0d which i did.I also keep getting the following error messages ;
W: failed to fetch http:// archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy Release.gpg
W: failed to fetch http:// archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy-update Release.gpg
W: failed to fetch http:// archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy-security Release.gpg
Could not resolve archive.ubuntu.com
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored or old ones  used instead.
Run apt-get update to correct the problems.

But on running  apt-get update again I get above mentioned messages.

Please help.
