Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Twice now after update-manager has upgraded firefox, I get the box
saying 'Your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted.' with a
Restart button. I restart firefox either with the restart button, or by
closing and re-opening firefox, or by doing a 'killall firefox' and
restarting it manually. After a few seconds, the box reappears (ie every
time after I restart firefox).

The only change I've made to firefox's configuration is to edit the
/etc/firefox-3.0/pref/firefox.js file and to add:

pref("browser.backspace_action", 0);
pref("accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound", false);
 (until I reboot).

Version information:

Intrepid 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-7-generic i386
firefox 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
