Ugly workaround:

Edit as root the following file:
/usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/langpack-es-ES at firefox-3.0.ubuntu.com/install.rdf  (replaces es-ES to your Locale)

Change the line: <em:maxVersion>3.0</em:maxVersion> to
<em:maxVersion>4.0</em:maxVersion>
