Though apt reports that libgnutls26 is installed, "ldd
/lib32/libnss_ldap.so.2" fails to find the lib. Installing it getlib
fixes the problem. (Tested on fresh updated Ubuntu 8.10 beta AMD64, Dell
M1530)

In short:
wget http://www.boundlesssupremacy.com/Cappy/getlibs/getlibs-all.deb
sudo dpkg -i getlibs-all.deb
getlibs -l libgnutls.so.26

Restart firefox and it works.
