Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

This is happening frequently. It may be associated with pages using Flash (but also sometimes just JavaScript). Most recent event was on http://www.amazon.com/20-000-Secrets-Tea-Effective/dp/0440235294/ref=pd_sim_b_1
Had multiple (5) tabs open with three of them on Amazon. The Amazon pages hung and delayed before loadilng. Then, attempts to close each of the three Amazon tabs caused Firefox to gray out and spin CPU cycles like crazy again (up to 95% of CPU). After about a minute, the pages load or close. They appear to operate normally once open.

Running Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)
firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
