[Bug 300464] [NEW] wine programs can't associate with firefox.

This problem is similar to others mentioned, but this only affects wine with firefox. I'm posting it in both forums because who knows which is the problem?  If I try to open a file from the Internet to use a specific wine program Firefox doesn't recognize the extension. This has happened with STEAM and the (steam) extension. http://cdn.steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi  It also used to happens with curseui and the psyn: prefix. http://wow.curse.com/client/ I'd assume it happens with all program associations in wine. I'm also posting this under wine errors.
1) I'm using Ubuntu Irritating Ibex 8.10  2a) Firefox 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 
2b)  1.1.8~winehq0~ubuntu~8.10-0ubuntu1         3)I'm expecting to open a file from a site especially designed for the program I'm using and have the program open it. Programs I've used in wine include Curseui and Steam <see above>
4) got an error message  "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (steam) isn't associated with any program."
