[Bug 300323] [NEW] look and behaviour of scrollbars in Thunderbird are messed up

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

Running:

64-bit Kubuntu intrepid, with compiz enabled. Thunderbird 2.0.0.17.

The scrollbars in Thunderbird:
  1. Look wrong; they are little squares instead of being extended rectangles
  2. Behave weirdly: they disappear when the cursor goes above them, and they jump around weirdly when you scroll around

I note that there is an item in System Settings | Appearance | GTK
Styles and Fonts called "install scrollbar fix" that seems to claim that
it will fix these problems. It has no effect whatsoever on my system.

FWIW, scrollbars in Firefox behave perfectly.
