[Bug 300122] [NEW] flash player crasches firefox

I installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my rather old dell pc and it works like a
charm exept, when i  installed the latest ver of flash player in
firefox. when i try to view a movie on youtube for example, firefox
freezes and i cant recover. i have to force quit firefox.

I tried to download and install flash player 10 from adobes homepage but
when i do, it says "error, later version already installed"

In firefox it says the version is "9.0 r999"

I just started using Ubuntu but i like it very much so far and i dont
want to go back to microsoft software just because of my incompetence,
so please if u can help me!
