Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

ubuntu 8.10
gnome 2.24.1. /kernel 2.6.27-8-generic (#1 SMP Thu Nov 6 17:33:54 UTC 2008)

when i select a word or phrase in an open browser file a menu bar with
several weblinks (google, yahoo, etc) appears and the entire system
simply hungs and i'm unable to remove or exit from the menu bar or the
current window/ webpage. it becomes impossible to navigate to other
windows or other applications.

in this case i've had to reset the computer to be able to get back to
work.

is this a bug in firefox?
