Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox
To access parts of the internet external to my workplace, I must use a
proxy server. I have firefox set up with suitable settings.
I get different results when I drag an image from firefox to my desktop.
1. If the image is hosted by my workplace (which is accessed directly,
without using the proxy) then it works as expected: the image is saved
to my desktop.
2. If the image is hosted externally then firefox uses the proxy server
to access it, and I get an error message and the image is not saved. For
example, if I browse to the url
http://www.google.ie/intl/en_com/images/logo_plain.png and drag this to
my desktop, I get the following error message in a dialogue box:
Error while copying.
There was an error getting information about "logo_plain.png".

HTTP Error: Cannot connect to destination
This is wrong. I expect my proxy settings to be respected, and this drag
and drop operation to work as in 1.
