Yes.
I found it - er - not exactly why, but I solved it by deleting the ~(.mozilla directory and providing firefox a new profile this way.
There must have gone something wrong with the Hardy-Intrepid profile update?
Don't know - IMO you can close the bug due to a lack of good info - if noone else complains ;-)
