[Bug 293239] [NEW] Poor performance on www.hungersite.com and related sites.

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Using the pre-installed version of Firefox 3 (3.0.3) in Ubuntu 8.10,
poor performance was observed at www.hungersite.com and the related sub
sites (rainforest, breast cancer, animal rescue etc.)

The pages take a long time to load, distinctly longer than when using
the equivalent Firefox version under Windows XP. I have tried repeatedly
using both operating systems (hosted on the same machine) with the same
results.

Please note that this has previously been reported as a bug (#281795)
which turned into a question (#47736), and then expired.

Since these sites now has changed the clicking mechanism and instead
requires "double-clicks", it has become rather tricky to register clicks
on these sites using Firefox under Ubuntu. That is why I created a new
bug report.
