I started to use the thunderbird today (Ubuntu 8.10) and I occasionally
get the same error. However, my .fonts folder contains only one almost
empty file fonts.dir, so this is probably not the cause of the problem.
However, when I start with --sync options, I get the same error
(sometimes again), but without any extra debugging information.
