[Bug 293226] [NEW] Firefox hangs when entering URL in address field

Whenever I enter a URL in the address field of firefox the browser hangs
for up to 5s before loading the website.

I have 8.10 installed on 3 machines, only one shows this strange
behaviour. The only difference I am aware of is that it uses NIS for
authentication and mounts its home directories by NFS. The NIS and NFS
is a Debian 4.0 box. 8.04 was not showing this in the same setup.
