This is a Microsoft bug as far as I know. They are checking your browser
ID and they are still looking for Firefox 2. Firefox 3 (for Microsoft)
is older than Firefox 2. It's a bug. It is possible to switch off
browser ID, but that's a bit tricky.

If you look for an alternative, opera (opera.com) is a great browser and
hotmail pops up without this annoying "update request".
