My permissions are ok for both home and home/.mozilla ( I have
permission to write, erase and modify files for both my group and my
user ).

The Gnome fail-safe session didn't help. Same result.

Here's the result of the command line ( none ). I attached a picture. No errors.
In the second screenshot you can see even I set a blank page, the http://start.ubuntu.com/8.10/ is shown when you start firefox.

My language is Spanish - Spain.
