[Bug 235216] [NEW] Thunderbird stops responding after mail delivery

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 on Hardy Heron.

After login, Thunderbird gets mail and puts it in appropriate folder[s], indicating number of unread messages in each folder. 
When I try to open a folder with unread mail, Thunderbird stops responding and I have to force quit.
On restarting Thunderbird, all is well.
