Confirm.
Sometimes ff3 locks up with no visible reason but when I actively surfing the web.
Possible cause is memory management routines trying to be low on resources but fails.
Probably cache cleanup routines (sometimes ff3 freezes while doing lot of disk IO).

But in my cases program is getting alive after 30 sec to 2 minutes of
freeze...
