Do you still see this issue in latest Firefox-2 or Firefox-3 packages in Gutsy or above repos? Using only the repos taht you have for the version of Ubuntu that you have.
Latest Firefox-2 is 2.0.0.14
Latest Firefox-3 is 3.0 b5

On Firefox-3.0 in Hardy and Intrepid seem to be fine but i dont speak
Urdu. I have asked a few others to test with Firefox-2 and they said it
reads fine.  I will attach a screenshot of it here.
