Firefox 3 beta 5, as installed by my upgrade to Hardy from Gutsy.

Yes, compiz is in use.  Will test with and without.

I'm using a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop, which has an integrated Intel graphics system
lspci gives;

Package 915resolution is loaded to give the correct screen resolution.
