[Bug 230627] [NEW] firefox wants to open PDF file with itself

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

For some reason, firefox seems convinced that only itself is able to
handle PDF files, even though e.g. evince and acrobat reader are
installed (screenshot 1).

Moreover, when I click OK to open the file in firefox, I only get a
mysterious error message (screenshot 2).
