Please check that your xulrunner-1.9 package version is

 >= 1.9~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu4~8.04.0mt1

Further, maybe try to disable your extensions in tools -> addons; if
this still doesn't help, disable flash plugin in tools -> addons ->
plugins.
